Introduction

Team RWB's Old Glory Ultra Relay (OGUR) which began May 2, 2025, and will end this weekend, is noble in scope: a team of dedicated runners carrying the American flag nearly 3,000 miles from the Pacific coast of California to the nation's capital.

Their mission? To raise awareness and support for veteran health and wellness. The inspiring journey of these veterans is being matched by another incredible feat: the unprecedented wave of media attention following their every step, expertly provided by the team at Evocati PR.

From the moment the relay kicked-off to today, OGUR has captured the hearts and headlines of the nation, amassing an astounding 621 media mentions with a combined reach of more than 355 million.

This isn't just a few scattered stories; it is a sustained, multi-platform surge of coverage that mirrors the runners' tireless progress across the country.

A Coast-to-Coast Chorus of Coverage

The journey began with a strong local echo in San Diego, where KSWB (FOX) and KPBS (PBS/NPR) were among the first to spotlight Team RWB's ambitious endeavor.

This early momentum quickly spread, with MSN.com picking up the story from KSWB, extending our reach to 122 million. But what really stands out is the consistent stream of local television coverage that tracked the relay as it wound its way eastward.

From KRQE in Albuquerque, NM, to KOTV in Tulsa, OK, KXII and KTEN in the Texoma region, and multiple stations in Arkansas (KFTA, KNWA, KHBS), local news outlets embraced the story, highlighting the personal dedication of the runners and the communities that support them. This sustained local presence demonstrates the powerful connection OGUR is forging with people across the nation.

But like OGUR, we’re not stopping there.

The Associated Press, recognizing Team RWB's success, published local features reaching 49 million impressions for each syndicated article. YahooNews! also amplified key stories, including the initial kickoff and the relay's passage through Northwest Arkansas, further increasing reach by more than 23 million per pickup.

Beyond the traditional news outlets, OGUR also garnered attention from specialized publications like Nutra Ingredients USA, highlighting sponsor support, plus We Are the Mighty, Stars & Stripes, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, thus showing how OGUR is resonating with the military-connected community.

Radio stations across the US also played a role, with the CBS Eye On Veterans Podcast and Audacy Radio dedicating significant airtime to the inspiring story, reaching an audience of nearly 2.6 million listeners.

But our work isn't done. OGUR is scheduled to finish May 19, 2025, in Washington, D.C., and we have more surprises in store.
