Washington, D.C. - Evocati LLC and The Washington Center have partnered to design a curriculum for up to 25 student veterans interning in Washington, D.C. as part of TWC’s VET Initiative. The Veterans Employment Trajectory Initiative is a 10-week professional immersion program hosted by TWC and supported by Prudential where student veterans are matched with an internship that fits their career goals. The cohort also receives classroom instruction that focuses on workforce preparedness like resume writing, personal branding, job interviewing, networking and job search skills. TWC partnered with Evocati to design, facilitate, and present the classroom curriculum.

Student veterans who apply must go through a rigorous application process. Upon selection they agree to live and work in the Washington, D.C. metro area for the duration of the program. TWC places student veterans into an internship site consistent with their professional goals which includes roles in the federal, policy, and nonprofit sectors.

“Having benefited from hosting two TWC interns during my tenure at VA, I’m excited to contribute to the VET Initiative at TWC,” said Evocati’s President & Founder Barrett Bogue. “We’re delighted at the opportunity to shape the future professional prospects of these veterans and to demonstrate the value of serving the military-connected community to TWC.”

This year’s cohort are one of the most talented in program history and will participate in the VET Initiative through August. The cohort has an average GPA of 3.39, 32 percent of participants are women, six are pursuing post-baccalaureate degrees, and the remaining are pursuing diverse degree programs that range from international relations to geology.
